The Whitcombs live in Thetford Mines, Quebec. Thetford is located about 3 hours from Montreal, 1 ½ hours from the Vermont border, 1 hour from Quebec City & 6 hours from Boston.
Our family consists of three humans – me, (Heather) my other half Peter & our lovely daughter Jennifer.  We are delighted to announce the arrival of the newest addition to our family - our adorable granddaughter Morgan Jean Lumsden.  Morgan came into this world on March 8, 2008.                                                                       

 

At the moment we have three bloodhounds in residence- our matriarch,  MultiBIS/BISS GCH/ Am BISS Ch Sapphires and White Diamonds (Taylor) – age 6 1/2,   Can. Am. Ch. Heather’s Opportunity Knocks (Oprah), age 3 1/2 and the baby of the family, Can Ch.  Heather's Cat On A Hot Tin Roof (Kitty), age 2 years. We have extended  family members: Can. Am. Ch. Heather’s Tri Knocking First (Victor) who is owned by Tammy Arseneau, Lyn Sherman & myself..  Victor is a littermate to Oprah.   
Am. Ch. Heather’s Black Diamond (Stedman) is owned by Lynne Lumsden & me. The Sted Man is loved & spoiled & hangs out in Florida.
Am. Ch. Heathers Where Eagles Dare  (Yeager) lives in sunny California .  He is a littermate to Miss Kitty. Lyn Sherman and I co-own him and he gets to hang out with his brother Ditto, also co-owed by us.

 

Am Ch. Heather's Father and Son (Ditto) is a blast from the past - his father being Multi BIS/BISS Can Ch/ Am/International Ch. Heather's NimRod Stew Unplugged.  His Mom is Multi BIS/BISS GCH/Am Ch. Sapphires & White Diamonds. We are hoping for great things from this liver lad.

Our first priority is to find homes where our puppies will be members of the family. Finding a good loving home where the dog will be a lifetime family member is of utmost importance. Seeing our puppies interacting & bonding with children, teens, adults & seniors is indeed a rewarding experience.
To this end we are very proud to have many of our dogs in law enforcement & Search & Rescue. We try to place a couple of dogs from each litter into working homes. We also are very proud of our dogs that have achieved working titles in both Canada & the U.S. They would include mantrailing titles on all three levels, tracking titles, & obedience titles. Many of our puppies have gone on to earn the right to be therapy dogs.
We have produced many champions on both sides of the border as well as abroad. We have bred three Best in Show dogs – including – Canadian National Bloodhound Specialty winners, Multi American Bloodhound Club Specialty winners, a group l winner at Westminster and many Garden group placements & the Best in Show Winner at the U.S. National Eukanuba Classic in 2005.
Many accomplishments that we are proud of – however, we are most proud of our dogs who can ‘do it all’. The ones that are not only family members but can get off the couch to go & find a lost child or participate in the obedience trials or trailing or tracking events. Many of our dogs compete in multi events.
