"KNOTTY"

 

Knotty winning the Canadian National Bloodhound Specialty 2005

 

Knotty was born in Thetford and lived with us until he was 6 months old.  He then moved to join his half brother Eric and the rest of the Sherman family in CA.

Knotty recently retired from actively showing after an outstanding few years in the show ring.  

Knotty retired with 337 BOB’s;  145 group lst;  47 all breed BIS; 2 ABC National Specialty wins ;  group placements at both the Eukanuba and The Garden and was the BIS winner at the Eukanuba National in 2005.   He also has to his credit 2 Canadian National Specialty wins and an all breed BIS.    Knotty started his show career with his Mom Lyn showing him and then Ken Griffith took over the leash.

Knotty unfortunately left us just a couple of weeks after his 8th birthday in April of 2008.   Thirteen months earlier he had been bitten by a rattle snake while out walking the hills with Lyn.  He put up a valiant battle but it wasn't enough.
 
He really was a once in a life time dog - he will be remembered not only for all his accomplishments in the show ring, but for just being Knotty!
 
He leaves behind many who loved him - especially his human and canine family of Lyn and Dick, his son Yeager, his brother Ditto, his friend Del and the cat Moo Moo.
